As an example of what to look for, The British Hamper Company offers a full refund if a UK mainland corporate order is not delivered by 24 December, for orders placed and paid by 12:00pm GMT on 23 December 2026. It excludes Wales, Scotland and remote areas, so read the small print against your recipient list.
Early November: agree budget, confirm the recipient list and addresses
Mid November: approve branding proofs and card messages
Late November to early December: dispatch, avoiding the last-minute rush

Tax on Christmas hampers
A Christmas hamper for a client is a gift of food and drink, so it is not deductible for corporation tax (BIM45070). For VAT, no output VAT is due on gifts to one person costing £50 or less, excluding VAT, in any 12-month period, so remember to count anything else you gave that client during the year.
A hamper for an employee is deductible for the business and tax-free for them as a trivial benefit if it costs £50 or less including VAT and meets the other conditions. A more generous staff hamper is taxable in full, which a PAYE Settlement Agreement can cover so the employee is not taxed on a gift.
What to put in a client hamper
Choose for the widest audience. An alcohol-free hamper avoids problems with clients who do not drink and with overseas delivery, where some suppliers cannot ship alcohol. Prepacked food must emphasise any of the 14 major allergens in its ingredients list, but a hamper of several products can still be hard to check, so ask for a full contents and allergen list.
Ambient items with a long shelf life, as offices may be closed for days
A non-alcoholic alternative to wine or champagne
Dietary versions where available: gluten free, vegan, halal
A personal card from the account manager, not just a logo
Questions people ask
What is the best christmas hampers for clients in the UK?
On our shortlist, the Cool Christmas Hamper is the best overall pick at £100 from Virginia Hayward Hampers. For a tighter budget, the Superior Selection, Christmas 24 Assorted Chocolate Gift Box (£32.95) is our best-value choice.
How much should I pay for christmas hampers for clients?
Most of the 23 UK listings we screened sit between £35 and £100, with a middle price of £70. Trade suppliers often show prices before VAT, so add 20% if you can't reclaim it.
Can a business reclaim VAT on christmas hampers for clients?
Usually yes. A hamper, chocolates or flowers sent as a gift count as a business gift for VAT, so you can reclaim the VAT if gifts to any one person cost £50 or less (excluding VAT) in a 12-month period; above that, VAT is due on the gift. Corporation tax is a separate test: gifts of food or drink to clients aren't deductible, while gifts to your own staff are.
Where can I buy christmas hampers for clients for a business?
The picks here come from Virginia Hayward Hampers, Chocolate Trading Company. Most UK trade suppliers offer next-day delivery and VAT invoices; some offer credit accounts for regular orders.
What are the best Christmas gifts for corporate clients?
Shareable food and drink, such as a hamper or a box of chocolates, suits most offices. Choose something the whole office can share, with an alcohol-free option, and keep the gift's value proportionate. A branded item such as a diary or pen is the main option that stays deductible for corporation tax.
What should go in a corporate Christmas hamper?
Long-life ambient food such as biscuits, chocolates, preserves and savoury snacks, plus a drink. Avoid short-dated fresh items unless you know someone will be there to receive them, and ask for an allergen list.
Is a staff Christmas hamper a taxable benefit?
Not if it qualifies as a trivial benefit: £50 or less including VAT, not cash or a voucher, not a reward for work and not in the contract. If it costs more, the whole value is taxable.
When should we order corporate Christmas hampers?
Early November for bulk orders, so there is time for branding proofs and address checks. Check each supplier's last order date for Christmas delivery and any regions excluded from guarantees.
