Best business class from London to Singapore

Singapore Airlines, British Airways and Qantas fly nonstop from Heathrow to Singapore. How their business class compares, plus two one-stop options.

London to Singapore is one of the longest work trips most UK travellers take, at more than 13 hours nonstop. On a flight this long, a proper flat bed and a quiet place to work before you go matter more than anything else.

Three airlines fly nonstop from Heathrow. Fares vary a lot by date and flexibility, so we have not printed prices. Check live fares on the airline's own site.

1 · Best overall

Singapore Airlines business class

Heathrow Terminal 2 to Singapore Changi

Singapore Airlines flies four times a day from Heathrow, using the A380 and Boeing 777-300ER, with one flight (SQ305/306) moving to the A350-900 from July 2026. Wi-Fi is free and unlimited in business class, and for KrisFlyer members in every cabin. Before you fly, the refurbished SilverKris Lounge in Terminal 2B has private productivity pods and plenty of charging points.

  • Four nonstop flights a day
  • Free unlimited Wi-Fi
  • SilverKris Lounge with work pods

Watch out: Its current long-haul business seat dates from 2013. A new seat is due, but the airline has not confirmed when it reaches London.

2 · Best for a door

British Airways Club Suite (BA15/16)

Heathrow Terminal 5 to Singapore, continuing to Sydney

BA's Sydney-bound flight via Singapore uses a Boeing 777 with Club Suite, which has a privacy door, direct aisle access and a lie-flat bed. That is the one to pick if you want BA and a door. BA began fitting free Starlink Wi-Fi across its fleet in 2026.

  • Privacy door and direct aisle access
  • BA lounges at Terminal 5
  • Earns Avios and BA tier points

Watch out: Make sure you book BA15/16. BA's other Singapore flight (BA11/12) moved to the A380 with the older Club World seat in September 2026.

3 · Extra BA departure

British Airways A380 Club World (BA11/12)

Heathrow Terminal 5 to Singapore

Since 7 September 2026 BA flies its A380 on the standalone London to Singapore flight. It gives you a second BA departure time, which helps when your schedule is tight. The business seat is the older Club World design.

  • Second daily BA option
  • Flat bed
  • Same Terminal 5 lounges

Watch out: The older eight-abreast Club World seat has no door and less privacy than Club Suite.

4 · Best oneworld alternative

Qantas A380 business class (QF1/QF2)

Heathrow Terminal 3 to Singapore, on the Sydney route

Qantas flies a daily A380 between London and Sydney that stops in Singapore, so it is another nonstop option for the London to Singapore leg. The upper-deck business cabin has 70 seats in a 1-2-1 layout, so every seat has aisle access, and each converts to a flat bed about two metres long with a mattress topper.

  • Every seat has aisle access
  • Long flat bed with topper
  • Daily A380

Watch out: There are no privacy doors, and power is USB-A only.

5 · Best one-stop option

Qatar Airways Qsuite via Doha

Heathrow Terminal 4 to Singapore via Doha

Splitting the journey in Doha breaks up a very long day. Qsuite has a closing door, and Qatar says free Starlink Wi-Fi is now on all its Boeing 777s and A350s, using a free Privilege Club login. Its Heathrow flights have used the 777-300ER, which has Qsuite.

  • Closing door on Qsuite
  • Free Starlink Wi-Fi
  • Breaks the trip into two flights

Watch out: Qatar can swap aircraft, and its A380s and some A350-900s do not have Qsuite. Check the seat map for both flights.

6 · Most London departures

Emirates business class via Dubai

Heathrow, Gatwick or Stansted to Singapore via Dubai

Emirates has 12 daily London flights across three airports, so it is the easiest way to fit a Singapore trip around your diary. Unlimited Wi-Fi is free for Skywards members in business, and Emirates is fitting Starlink, which it says will be free for everyone.

  • Lots of London departure times
  • Free Wi-Fi for Skywards members
  • Choice of London airport

Watch out: The connection in Dubai adds several hours compared with a nonstop flight.

Which London airport?

Singapore Airlines flies from Heathrow Terminal 2. British Airways uses Terminal 5 and Qantas uses Terminal 3. For one-stop trips, Qatar Airways uses Terminal 4, and Emirates flies from Heathrow Terminal 3, Gatwick and Stansted.

Getting work done on a 13-hour flight

On this route you can usually work for a few hours and still sleep properly. Free Wi-Fi is now standard on Singapore Airlines and is spreading fast at BA, Qatar and Emirates.

Plan your sleep around your arrival time in Singapore, which is eight hours ahead of the UK in winter and seven in summer.

  • Book a window seat in a 1-2-1 cabin for more privacy.
  • Join the airline's free loyalty scheme before you fly, as Wi-Fi often needs a member login.
  • Use the lounge to finish calls before boarding.

Costs beyond the fare

Singapore is in Air Passenger Duty band C, the longest-distance band. For flights from 1 April 2026, a business class passenger leaving a UK airport pays £253 in duty, against £106 in economy. It rises to £261.25 from 1 April 2027.

There is no UK VAT to reclaim on the ticket. HMRC's VAT Notice 744A zero-rates scheduled flights.

Entry rules for a work trip

This is what the FCDO says for British citizens, checked 27 Oct 2026.

  • Visa: none needed for tourism or business. The immigration officer sets the length of stay, normally between 30 and 90 days.
  • SG Arrival Card: complete the electronic card in the 3 days before arrival. A PA can remind the traveller in the trip itinerary.
  • Passport: it must be valid for at least 6 months after the date you arrive.
  • Medicines: rules on controlled drugs are strict. For prescription medicines, check with the Singapore High Commission in the UK before travel.
