Gsm means grams per square metre. An A4 sheet is one sixteenth of a square metre, so an 80gsm sheet weighs about 5 grams.
Joybuy's UK buying guide calls 80gsm the standard for most business use and credits it with greater opacity, which means less show-through when you print on both sides. Lighter paper is cheaper per box and fine for internal drafts. Check the paper weight range in your printer's manual before you change weight.
FSC 100% means all the material comes from FSC-certified forests. FSC Recycled means the product is made from 100% recycled material. FSC Mix means a mixture of material from FSC-certified forests, recycled material and FSC-controlled wood.
Each FSC licence holder has a trademark licence code in the format FSC-C followed by six digits, shown on the label. You can check it on the FSC public certificate search at info.fsc.org. If you report on sustainable purchasing, ask your supplier to show the FSC claim and certificate code on the invoice.

Most of the 53 UK listings we screened sit between £22 and £44, with a middle price of £28. Trade suppliers often show prices before VAT, so add 20% if you can't reclaim it.
A VAT-registered business can usually reclaim the VAT on equipment bought for business use, as long as it holds a valid VAT invoice from the supplier. Ask the seller for one at checkout.
The picks here come from UK Office Direct Limited. Most UK trade suppliers offer next-day delivery and VAT invoices; some offer credit accounts for regular orders.
Many office printers accept it, but check the supported paper weight range in your printer's manual. Use 80gsm for double-sided and client-facing printing, where opacity matters.
FSC Recycled paper is made from 100% recycled material. FSC Mix combines material from FSC-certified forests, recycled material and FSC-controlled wood.
